Standard Camp Kit List

(note, this is a generic kit list - other specific items may be needed for some camps)

Scouts must travel to camp in top half uniform (Scout shirt and neckerchief)
Sleeping bag )
Pillow )  
blanket ) all in thick waterproof bag
Thermal Roll  )  
Small folding chair    
cake or fruit to be shared    
Pack the following into a kit bag or rucksack - NO suitcases - they take up
too much room in a tent
complete change of underwear and socks per day trainers
boots or second pair of trainers thick socks to go in boots
tee-shirts shorts
tracksuit or activity trousers (no jeans) fleece or sweatshirt tops
waterproof jacket and trousers tissues
wash bag with soap, comb, toothbrush and toothpaste towels
nightwear swimming trunks
torch and spare batteries plastic bag for dirty washing
PE type bag with non-breakable plate, mug, bowl,
knife, fork, spoon and 2 tea towels
woolly hat and gloves
sun hat sun cream
drinks Bottle personal first aid kit

It is always useful to bring a small rucksack to camp for day trips and hikes (you could use it to carry your sleeping bag to camp!)This should have two comfortable shoulder straps and be big enough to carry waterproofs, spare jumper, drink and food.

For longer camps we recommend putting different types of clothes together in carrier bags.

All crockery to be plastic or enamel

The following are NOT allowed on camp:

  • Aerosols
  • Mobile phones
  • MP3 players, iPods and any other electronic equipment
Penknives are allowed on some camps but this will be made clear for each camp.

All medication must be clearly named with dose and timings and handed in at the start of camp. The exception is inhalers. Please bring 2, one to be carried with you and one spare to be handed in.
